This article will show you different ways of installing an app on BlueStacks for macOS.
How can I install an app?
There are three different ways to install an app. Click on the links below to learn each one of them.
- Install an app from the Google Play Store
- Install an app from the App Center
- Install an app through an .APK file
How can I install an app from the Google Play Store?
1. Launch BlueStacks and click on the icon for the Google Play Store.
2. Now, type in the name of the app you want to install in the search bar.
3. Click on Install, once you find the app you're looking for in the search results. We have taken Among Us as an example, in this case.
4. The app will now get installed on BlueStacks. You can access it form the My Apps tab.
How can I install an app from the App Center?
There are two methods of using the App Center to install an app. They are as follows:

1. Launch BlueStacks and go to the App Center tab, as shown below.
2. Here, you will see a variety of apps that you can install. Find the app you would like and click on it. We have taken Among Us as an example here.
3. The app you selected will open up in the Google Play Store. Now, click on Install.
4. The app will now get installed. You can access it from the My Apps tab.
How to search for apps and install them from the App Center.
1. After opening BlueStacks, go to the App Center tab.
2. Now, type the name of the app you want in the search bar and press enter. Let's search for Soul Knight in this case.
3. When you find the app in the search results, click on it.
NOTE: In case the app does not show up in the search results, you can click on the option to Visit Google Play and install the app according to the steps mentioned in the first method.
4. Next, click on Install when you are redirected to the app's page on the Google Play Store.
5. Now, the app will now get installed on BlueStacks and it can be accessed from the My Apps tab.
How can I install an app through an .APK file?
There are two methods of installing an app through its .APK file. They are:
How to install an .APK file from its Mac location.
1. Download the .APK file for an app from any third-party site and launch BlueStacks on your Mac.
2. Now, navigate to the Mac location where the .APK file has been downloaded.
3. Next, double-click on the .APK file for the app.
4. The app will now get installed on BlueStack. You can access it any time from the BlueStacks menu in the My Apps tab, as shown below.
How to install an .APK file from the Media Manager.
1. Download the .APK file for an app from any third-party site and launch BlueStacks on your Mac.
2. Now, open the Media Manager from the My Apps tab.
3. Here, click on Import from Mac.
4. A Mac Finder window will appear. Here, navigate to the .APK file for the app you want to install on BlueStacks.
5. When you find it, select it and click on Open.
6. Double-click on the .APK file, once it transfers to the Imported Files section of the Media Manager.
7. The app will now get installed on BlueStacks. You can access it any time from the BlueStacks menu in the My Apps tab, as shown below.
