Gamers throughout the world have different playstyles. The controls that work for you might not work for your friend and vice versa. Learning how to customize controls can go a long way and will aid you in finding that sweet spot in a game of your choice.

What are the types of controls I can make or edit?
NOTE: Please disable "Native gamepad controls" in BlueStacks settings. To learn how to do that, click here.
1) Open a game of your choice in BlueStacks. For representation purposes, we're going with everyone's favorite, Minecraft. Next, open the "Controls editor" by clicking on the keyboard icon on the side toolbar as shown below.
2) On opening the "Controls editor", a new window will appear alongside. This will provide you with various options as to what each control key will do, which are all explained below.
Tap spot - This key control is used when you would like to imitate the action of a singular "tap" on the screen. E.g opening your backpack in games such as Free Fire.
Repeated tap - You can use this when you would like for a "tap" to be done multiple times in-game.
D-pad - This control majorly signifies movement controls in a game.
Aim, pan and shoot - You can assign a key in the instance when you would like to view your mouse cursor in-game. This is only available in BlueStacks version 4.180 and above, so please update. Good things await.
Zoom - A key control used for the zoom action in various games such as Rise of Kingdoms.
Swipe - You can assign acontrol to imitate the "swipe" action. This is useful in games like Temple Run.
Free look - Controls can be assigned here to emulate an action that allows you to look around in-game.
Tilt - You can assign a control to imitate the action of a tilt.
Rotate - You can use this to assign a key to rotate the steering wheel in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. This control is meant for driving games such as Dr. Driving, Real Racing 3, etc. To know more, click here.
How can I create or edit gamepad controls?
Now to set the controls you wish for these actions. Click on whichever action you would like to be performed. For example, we would like a "Tap spot" in the game.
On clicking that, you will see a key appear in the game as shown above. Right-click on that and an advanced menu options window will appear alongside. Click on "Gamepad" on the menu, as shown below.
Firstly, click on "Tap key". Secondly, perform the action on your gamepad. As an example, we would like this action to be performed by pressing "RT" on our gamepad. This will then appear on in the window, as shown below.
As always, remember to click on "Save" before exiting.
