How to add skins, effects and filters in games using Creator Studio Web

How can I apply skins in games using Creator Studio Web?

You can now apply skins to in-game assets and backgrounds using the "Reskin" option on Creator Studio Web. Make your pick from a variety of available skins or simply upload an image of your choice!

Follow the steps given below to learn how you can do this.

1. Go to Creator Studio Web and click on the "Creator Studio" tab at the top of your screen. Hover your mouse cursor on a game and click on "Create a Mod", as shown below.

2. Uner the Reskin tab, click on an asset or background of your choice. Then, select a skin from the existing library in the "Discovery" section, as shown below.

3. To create your own skin, click on the "+" icon under the "Owned Skin" section and select any of the two available options.

  • Upload: To upload an image of your choice
  • My Skins: To select a skin you had previously uploaded

NOTE: You can upload a maximum of 30 skins in the "My Skins" tab.

4. To apply the selected skins, click on "Save All", add a name for your mod and click on "Confirm". Your mod will be saved.

5. You can access your mods and skins anytime under the following sections within the "My Hub" tab. 

  • My Mods: All the mods you have created can be found here
  • My Skins: You can find all your uploaded skins here

6. If you wish to delete a skin from your current mod, click on the (-) icon. Then, click on "Delete" to confirm.

If you wish to delete a skin from the "My Skins" tab, simply click on the "X" icon. Then, click on "Delete" to confirm.

7. You can now click on "Install" to launch the modded version of your game.

The "Reskin" option is currently available only for Candy Crush Saga.


How can I add effects in games using Creator Studio Web?

You can personalize in-game moments by adding effects using Creator Studio Web. Follow the steps given below to learn how to add effects to your game.

1. Go to Creator Studio Web and click on the "Creator Studio" tab at the top of your screen. Hover your mouse cursor on a game and click on "Create a Mod", as shown below.

2. Click on the "Effect" tab and select an in-game scenario to which you would like to add an effect.

3. Select an effect from the options available under the "Discovery" section. If you wish to cancel your selection, click on the effect again, as shown below.

NOTE: You can select up to five effects for each in-game scenario.

4. To customize an effect, click on the "Adjust" icon. You can now:

  • Adjust the volume
  • Select the number of times the effect will be replayed for each scenario

  • Resize it
  • Place it at a specific location

5. If you wish to create your own effects, hover your cursor over the "+" icon under the "Available Effects" tab, as shown below.

6. You can create a mod using the following options:

  • Upload: Find and select a GIF of your choice from the Giphy repository or upload one from your desktop/laptop

  • My Favorites: Select an effect from the collection of effects you had liked before
  • My Effects: Choose an effect that you had previously created

7. If you upload a GIF or select one from the Giphy repository, you can customize the effect further by changing the thumbnail, name and audio.

NOTE: When you choose a mod from "My Effects" or "My Favorites", you will not be able to change the thumbnail, name and audio.

8. Once you have created your mod, click on "Confirm". Your mod will now appear as an effect under the "Available Effects" tab. You can now customize the effect as mentioned in the previous steps.

NOTE: All your saved effects will be available in the "My Effects" section under the "My Hub" tab.

9. Once you have customized the effect according to your preference, click on "Confirm".

10. Next, click on "Save All" and add a name to your mod. Then, click on "Confirm".

11. Click on "Install" to launch the modded version of your game.

NOTE: Alternatively, you can also go to the "My Hub" tab, select the mod and click on "Install".


How can I add filters in games using Creator Studio Web?

You can add filters to your games and change the look of your gameplay using Creator Studio Web. Follow the steps given below to learn how to add a filter to your game.

1. Go to Creator Studio Web and click on the "Creator Studio" tab at the top of your screen. Hover your mouse cursor on a game and click on "Create a Mod", as shown below.

2. Click on the "Filter" tab and select a filter from the available options.

3. You can also create a custom filter by clicking on "Customize". Here, you can adjust the given parameters such as brightness, contrast, saturation and more to make your personalized filter.

4. To apply the selected filter, click on "Save All", add a name and click on "Confirm". Your mod will be saved.

5. Click on "Install" to launch the modded version of the game.

Q1. How can I share my mods with other players?

A. You can share skins, effects and filters by clicking on the "Share" icon. These can be shared across:

  • Creator Hub: Share your mods with other gamers around the world who can download and use them
  • Social media: Share your mods with your friends via Reddit, Twitter or Facebook and show off your creative skills

Q2. How can I set a default mod for a game?

A. You can choose which mod will launch every time you click on "Install" by setting it as your default mod for a particular game. To do this:

  • Go to the "My Mods" section under the "My Hub" tab
  • Click on the "Set as default" button at the top right corner of the mod
  • Select "Confirm" when asked for a confirmation

The mod will be set as default and will be moved to the start of the queue.

Q3. Can I add a combination of skins, effects and filters within a single mod?

A. Yes, you can add multiple skins for assets and backgrounds along with effects and filters within the same mod.
