Why should I update my apps?
Updating your apps from the Google Play Store helps you utilize all the latest in-app features.
This article will explain how to:
- Update apps if you're on the latest version of the Play Store
- Update apps if you're on an older version of the Play Store
- Update to the latest version of Play Store on your BlueStacks
How can I update apps on the latest version of Google Play Store?
1. Launch BlueStacks 5 and click on "System apps" on your BlueStacks 5 home screen. Then, click on the "Play Store" icon and log in to the Google Play Store by following the steps given in this article.
2. Click on your profile icon at the top-right corner and do the following:
- Select "Manage apps & device"
- Under the Overview tab, click on "Updates available"
- If you wish to update all the apps, click on "Update all" but to update a particular app, click on the "Update" button in front of it.
NOTE: You will see the "Updates available" option only if any of your apps are pending to be updated.
The selected app(s) will start to update. Once the process is complete, you can use your app by clicking on its icon from the home screen.
How can I update apps on older versions of the Google Play Store?
1. Launch BlueStacks 5 and click on "System apps" on your BlueStacks 5 home screen. Then, click on the "Play Store" icon and log in to the Google Play Store by following the steps given in this article.
2. Click on your profile icon at the top-right corner and do the following:
- Select "My apps & games"
- Scroll down to the list of all your installed apps and click on "Update all" to update all the apps. To update a particular app, click on the "Update" button in front of it.
The selected app(s) will begin to update. Once the process is completed, you can start using your app by clicking on its icon, as usual.
How can I update to the latest version of Google Play Store on BlueStacks 5?
1. Launch BlueStacks 5 and click on "System apps" on your BlueStacks 5 home screen. Then, click on the "Play Store" icon and log in to the Google Play Store by following the steps given in this article.
2. If you see your profile icon at the top-right corner, click on it and do the following:
- Click on "Settings"
- Scroll down and select the "About" section
- Click on "Play Store version"
- On the pop-up that appears, click on "Got it" to continue
Alternatively, if you see a hamburger menu button on the top-left corner, click on it and do the following:
- Click on "Settings"
- Click on "Play Store version"
- On the pop-up that appears, click on "Got it" to continue
Google Play Store will now get updated to the latest version.
NOTE: 1. You will see a popup only if a new version of the Google Play Store is available.
