Why you may face an incompatibility error while trying to update BlueStacks 5

Why can I not update to the latest version?

If you come across the following error while trying to update BlueStacks 5, it could be because of specific system limitations, such as:

  • You are using Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • You are using a 32-bit version of Windows
  • Virtualization is either disabled or not supported on your desktop/laptop

How can I resolve this?

If you're using  Windows 7 or 8, due to certain limitations within the operating system, you can only use BlueStacks 5 version 5.21.300 or below as these are still compatible with your system.

Download BlueStacks 5.21.300

To use newer versions of BlueStacks 5, i.e. versions 5.21.301 and above, we highly recommend updating to Windows 10 or above to ensure compatibility.

If you're using a 32-bit version of Windows, you can resolve this error by upgrading to a 64-bit version if your hardware supports it.

If Virtualization is disabled on your desktop/laptop, this can cause a compatibility issue with the latest version of BlueStacks 5. To resolve this, you can enable Virtualization by following the steps in the relevant article below:

Thank you for choosing BlueStacks. We hope you enjoy using it. Happy Gaming!
