How to enable Android Debug Bridge on BlueStacks 5

This article illustrates how you can enable Android Debug Bridge on BlueStacks 5 and, for further debugging, open Command Prompt and set it to the BlueStacks 5 directory.

To get started, take a look at the steps below.

1. Launch BlueStacks 5 and open the Settings menu by either clicking on the:

  • Hamburger icon, on the top bar, and selecting "Settings"
  • Gear icon on the Side toolbar

2. Within the Settings menu, click on the "Advanced" tab and enable the toggle beside "Android Debug Bridge", as shown below.

3. Click on "Save changes".

4. To further debug an issue, search for "Command Prompt" within the Start Menu and click on "Run as administrator".

5. On the Command Prompt window, type "cd C:\Program Files\BlueStacks_nxt" and press Enter.

You can now interact with the ADB shell and debug any issues while simultaneously running BlueStacks App Player.
