BlueStacks 5 has a built-in ability to take screenshots within an installed app or the home screen.
You can easily take a screenshot by clicking on the "Take screenshot" icon on the Side toolbar.
This article will guide you on how you can:
How can I take a screenshot?
1. Navigate to where you would like to take a screenshot on the home screen or launch the desired app. For representation purposes, we'll be launching "Hill Climb Racing", as shown below.
2. When you want to take a screenshot, simply click on the "Camera icon" on the Side toolbar.
3. If it's the first time that you are taking a screenshot on BlueStacks, a message will appear on your screen where you will be asked to choose the location you want to save your screenshots in.
By default, the screenshots are saved in the ''BlueStacks'' folder within the ''Pictures'' folder on your desktop/laptop. You can either select:
- Use current - This will use the default location, as described above, to save your screenshots
- Choose custom - With this, you can choose the location where you want to save screenshots
Your screenshot will now be saved in your preferred location, as selected by you in step 3 above.
How can I access my saved screenshots?
You can access your saved screenshots by using either the:
Media Gallery
1. When you take a screenshot, the following message will appear on the Side toolbar beside the "Media Gallery" icon.
Click on the Media Gallery icon or press CTRL + SHIFT + 6 on your keyboard.
2. Within the "Screenshots" tab in the Media Gallery, click on either:
- Open Gallery: This will open the Media Manager where your screenshots will be saved.
- Open Folder: This will open the Windows Folder where your screenshots are locally saved on your desktop/laptop.
Access screenshots using the Media Manager
1. Click on the ''System app'' folder on the BlueStacks 5 home screen, as shown in the picture below.
2. Now click on ''Media Manager'' in the next menu.
3. Within the ''Media Manager'', click on ''Gallery'' in the menu on the left of your screen and open the ''Screenshots'' folder.
4. Now, click on ''Pictures'' where you can access all your saved screenshots.
Accessing your locally saved screenshots on your desktop/laptop
1. To open the Windows folder where your screenshots are saved, click on the Media Gallery icon on the Side toolbar and select "Open Folder", as shown below.
2. The Windows folder will then open, showcasing all of your saved screenshots.
Changing the location where your screenshots are saved
1. To find out where your screenshots are saved on your desktop/laptop, click on the gear icon on the Side toolbar to open BlueStacks Settings.
2. Click on the "Preferences" tab and scroll down to "Media folder". Here, you will be able to see the current location where your screenshots are saved.
To change the location, click on "Change path" and select a different location.
Remember to click on "Save changes" once you're done!
