Progressing efficiently in Ragnarok: The New World starts with understanding its core systems. While the game gives you plenty of freedom to explore, making smart decisions early on can save valuable resources and help you level much faster.
One of the first things to learn is how the game's currencies work. Zeny is your main tradeable currency and is best saved for the Auction House, where you can purchase stronger equipment from other players. Bound Zeny, earned through quests and redeem codes, cannot be traded, making it ideal for NPC purchases and weapon refinement. Meanwhile, Adventure Coins are the premium currency, and new players will benefit more from spending them on progression items like experience boosters instead of cosmetics.

Your progression naturally evolves as you level up. During Levels 1–30, prioritize the main story quests, which provide the fastest experience while unlocking new areas around Midgard. Between Levels 30–60, focus on reaching Job Level 40 to unlock your second job advancement and powerful class-defining skills. Once you
reach Level 60 and beyond, daily dungeons, MVP boss hunts, PvP, and Zeny farming become the foundation of your long-term progression.
Pets are much more than companions. They provide passive stat bonuses, assist with auto-looting, and can even help in combat. You can obtain pets through Pet Wish, event eggs, or login rewards. As they level up, evolving them with Evolution Stones strengthens their abilities and, in some cases, grants movement speed bonuses. Rather than upgrading multiple pets at once, investing your resources into one fully evolved pet offers far greater benefits.
