What is the Multi-instance Manager on BlueStacks Air?
With the Multi-instance Manager, you can create and clone multiple instances of BlueStacks Air, using which you can play several games together, use different in-game accounts and more!
To get started, simply:
- Click on the Multi-instance Manager icon on the Side toolbar.
- Click on “Instance” and then either “Fresh instance” or “Clone instance”, depending on your requirement.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and click on “Start” once the new instance has been created.

How can I create or clone a new instance?
1. Launch BlueStacks Air and click on the Multi-instance Manager icon on the Side toolbar, as shown below.
2. Next, click on “Instance”.
3. Now, select either:
- Fresh instance: This will create a new instance where you will be required to log in and install apps.
- Clone instance: This will clone an existing instance with all your apps and settings carried forward into the new instance.
4. If you have selected “Fresh instance”, simply customize the following settings you would like for your new instance:
- CPU Cores: Set the number of CPU cores for your instance. Use more if you plan to run one instance at a time and less if you plan to run multiple instances simultaneously.
- Memory Allocation: Allocate memory for your instance. Use more if you plan to run one instance at a time and less if you plan to run multiple instances simultaneously.
- Resolution: Select the orientation and resolution.
- Performance mode: Depending on your requirements, select either “High performance” or “Balanced”.
- DPI: Select a DPI between 160, 240 and 320.
- Instance Count: Configure the number of instances you would like to create with these settings.
Once these settings have been configured, click on “Create”.
However, if you decide to clone an instance, a similar window will appear. Here:
- Select the instance you wish to clone.
- Customize the settings as described above.
- Click on “Create”.
5. Once the instance has been created, click on “Start” to launch the instance, as shown below.
How can I manage my instances?
With the Multi-instance Manager, you can:
- Sort your instances by Name/Engine
- Search for instances
- Rename the instance
- Customize the settings for a specific instance
- Conduct Batch operations or disable audio for all instances
- Delete instances
- Reorder instances
Sorting instances
To sort instances, simply click on “Sort by” and select either ”Name” or "Engine".
Search for instances
You can search through your instances by name using the search bar provided in the Multi-instance Manager.
Rename instances
You can also rename any of your instances for easier accessibility. To do so, hover your mouse cursor over the instance and click on the “Pencil” icon, as shown below.
Customizing settings for a specific instance
Simply click on the gear icon beside the instance to customize Performance, Display or Graphical settings.
Batch operations and audio mute
From the instance manager settings, you can mute audio across all instances and configure the specified time of batch operations.
NOTE: Batch operations allows you to start, stop or delete multiple instances at a time interval of your choosing.
For example, if you would like to start, stop or delete the 2nd and 3rd instances in the above image at an interval of 10 seconds, simply:
- Configure the "Start interval" to "10 seconds".
- Select the 2nd and 3rd instances by clicking on the checkboxes beside the instance names.
- Click on "Start", "Stop" or "Delete".
- The 2nd instance will then start, stop or be deleted and after 10 seconds, the 3rd instance will follow the same behavior automatically.
Delete instances
You can also delete any unwanted instances by simply clicking on the “Bin” icon beside the instance name, as shown below.
Reorder instances
You can also reorder your instances in the Multi-instance Manager window by simply dragging and dropping the instance to your required position.
