Explore the vast open world solo or alongside up to four friends, making impactful decisions along the way. All about Sects
Sects in Where Winds Meet are factions you can join during your journey, and each one offers unique benefits, rules, and Martial Arts you unlock by becoming a disciple. Players start the game sectless, which gives them freedom from any sect rules, but joining a sect provides access to exclusive weapons, unique shops, titles, and rewards.
Each sect represents a distinct philosophy and playstyle with special rules you’re expected to follow.
Following a sect’s rules increases your standing, unlocking rewards in its sect shop and higher ranks. Breaking rules lowers your standing and can even lead to penalties.
Joining a sect also gives you its signature Martial Art and a matching weapon right when you enter.
To join a Sect, you need to open the Sects menu, browse available sects, and click “Entry Clue” to track a hint about where to find that sect’s representative. Complete any initiation quest or requirements the elder sets, and once done, you can formally join.
You can leave a sect at any time and join a different one, although this resets your rank and standing in your previous sect. After leaving, you’re free to pursue another sect’s path and unlock their rewards.
Once you’re in a sect, you receive its Martial Art and entry weapon, get access to the sect’s unique shop, earn titles and privileges by improving your standing through activities, and by meeting weekly requirements.

- Watch for Injuries: Hidden injuries can slow down the recovery of stamina or reduce damage. Visit medics to treat wounds and craft better salves.

- Take your time. Search rooftops, caves, rivers, and ruins for collectibles, hidden chests, and viewpoints. Exploration rewards you with resources, Oddities, bonuses, and unique encounters that help you progress faster.
