How can I resolve this on BlueStacks 5.14?
If you come across the following error message after launching BlueStacks 5.14, you can resolve it by clicking on "Run tool" to start the Hyper-V Diagnostic Tool which will automatically troubleshoot and resolve any errors that may be preventing BlueStacks 5 from launching.
The Hyper-V Diagnostic Tool will:
- Troubleshoot the problem to identify the root cause
- Correctly enable Hyper-V if it has been partially enabled
- Apply administrator privileges to BlueStacks 5 if required for a successful launch
- Apply administrator privileges automatically on every launch of BlueStacks 5
Diagnosing the problem
The following pop-up will appear if BlueStacks 5 is unable to launch due to Hyper-V conflicts. Click on "Run tool" to begin the process.
Correctly enabling Hyper-V if it has been partially enabled
If your Windows Hyper-V settings are partially enabled, the Hyper-V Diagnostic tool will enable the required settings automatically. To enable Hyper-V completely, click on "Run tool".
Applying Administrator privileges to BlueStacks 5 if required
To successfully launch BlueStacks 5, you may be required to grant administrator privileges to BlueStacks 5 due to constraints within Windows. Click on "Run as Admin" to successfully start BlueStacks 5.

- This is a completely secure and safe process and will not affect your desktop/laptop in any way.
- This is because some Windows machines require programs that run with Hyper-V enabled to be launched with administrator privileges due to certain Windows constraints.
Requesting administrator privileges for every launch of BlueStacks 5
If Administrator privileges are required on your desktop/laptop to launch BlueStacks 5, we highly recommend ticking the checkbox beside "Apply on every launch" and clicking on "Run as Admin" for a seamless experience.
How can I resolve this on BlueStacks 5.13 and below?
If you come across the following error message after launching BlueStacks 5.13 and below, you can resolve it by enabling Hyper-V on your desktop/laptop in any of the following ways:
- Automatically through BlueStacks, if Hyper-V is partially enabled
- Using our custom tool
- Using Windows settings
- Using Command Prompt

Enabling Hyper-V automatically through BlueStacks
If Hyper-V is partially enabled on your desktop/laptop, clicking on "Continue" within the pop-up shown below will begin the process to completely enable Hyper-V for a successful launch of BlueStacks 5.
Once the process is complete, you will need to restart your desktop/laptop for the changes to take effect.
Enabling Hyper-V through our custom tool
- Download the custom tool and select "Run as administrator".
- Once the process is completed, you will get a pop-up confirming the same.
- For the changes to take effect, click on "OK" to restart your desktop/laptop.
Enabling Hyper-V through Windows settings
On your desktop, search for "Turn Windows features on or off" and click on it in the search results. Within Windows features, enable the following options and click on "OK".
- Hyper V
- Virtual Machine Platform
- Windows Hypervisor Platform
- Windows Sandbox
- Windows Subsystem for Linux
Once done, restart your desktop/laptop for the changes to take effect.
Enabling Hyper-V through Command Prompt
- Search for "CMD", in the Windows search bar and click on "Run as administrator".
- Copy and paste the following command into the Elevated Command Prompt and press "Enter":
dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all - Once the process is complete, press "Y" to restart your desktop/laptop.
Running BlueStacks 5 as an Administrator
If you're unable to launch BlueStacks 5 even after Hyper-V is enabled:
